Red Horse Ranch Arena offers
boarding for all breeds and all disciplines.
Visitors are always welcome. We
are proud to have a very knowledgeable and horse-friendly staff that could
answer any questions during your visit.
Our boarding stable is a separate facility located just behind the event
center, and is home to our year-round lesson program. It is also home to the hands-on portion of
our partnership with M-State in our Equine Science Diploma Program.
All boarders have access to each
and every one of our many arenas and amenities.
The boarding stable includes an indoor 100 by 110 foot arena, as well as
an indoor 50 foot round-pen. For ease of
veterinary procedures, such as teeth floating, we also have a set of equine
stocks for use inside. Secure storage
space for your tack is provided using either an individual locker or a group
tack room setting. A wash-rack with hot
and cold water is available year-round.
The entire boarding stable, including the stalls, wash-rack, stocks,
tack rooms, bathroom, arena, arena viewing area and round pen are heated all
winter long to about 50 degrees and they stay quiet cool and comfortable
throughout the summer. Outdoors,
boarders may make use of our scenic riding trail, which encompasses the
perimeter of our 220 acres, much of which follows the Ottertail River. Boarders may also use either of our outdoor
arenas. The rodeo arena measures 150 by
300 feet and our lower arena measures 100 by 200 feet. For one more option, boarders may ride in our
main event center arena.
Horses may be boarded in an indoor
stall setting with daily turnout, or may be boarded outside in a pasture or
paddock setting. Indoor boarding
includes being stalled at night (and during inclement weather) and turned
outside during the day (or indoor turnout during inclement weather). There are individual and group turnouts and
horses are arranged according to their individual needs and their owner’s
preferences. Stalls are 10 by 12 feet,
and are bedded with wood shavings.
Outdoor boarded horses stay out 24/7 and have access to a free-choice
three-sided shelter and automatic waterers.
All board rates include hay and grain fed to the quantities needed for
each individual. Our hay is a
grass/alfalfa mix purchased from a local horse-hay provider and we feed
straight oats for grain. We supplement
these with a salt/mineral lick. If other
feeds are desired, you just supply them, and we’ll feed them.
No matter the discipline, horse’s
breed, age of rider, or level of horse or rider, everyone is welcome. At Red Horse Ranch Arena, we strive to take
the best possible care of your horse and make them, and you, feel right at
home.
